Sunday Musings

Sundays are usually full days and this one is no exception.  It began with worship and the celebration of 21 years of ministry for Predisan.  Predisan, a medical mission presence in Honduras blesses thousands of people each month through medical clinics, community and economic development, spiritual counseling, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and more.  Northlake has been a part of this ministry from its earliest days.

What is truly remarkable is that this mission, launched by Robert and Doris Clark in 1986, funded and driven by North Americans for years is now almost entirely staffed and led by Hondurans!  Praise God for his  goodness.

As the day comes to a close I am in Nashville with William who has a college related exam to take in the morning.  We met with for dinner with a new friend, Matt, who serves as as a police officer for the Metro police.  Matt, who is an old friend to Shawn and Troy, recently lost his wife, is learning what it means to take one day at a time.  We admire his courage in working through his loss and for the humanity and saneness by which he and his two detective colleagues who joined us for dinner take on each day.

Like the colors of a rainbow that blur from one color to the next, so does the presence of God in the vast variety of human experience.  He is present and he is alive in those who live by faith!
