I guess we knew it would happen

Thanks to Shayne for this one. A new book is slated for release by Kathleen McGowan who claims that she is a direct descendant of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene. See The Independent. I don't know what is crazier-- person who would make such a claim or a major publisher--Simon and Schuster in this case--who would publish it.

It is scheduled to be out next month.

The sensationalism that such a story creates, sad to say, is worth more than any issue of integrity in today's climate.

I was one of 40 million who read Dan Brown, but I will pass on Ms. McGowan.
