Easter Parade

Every spring comes new imaginings and sensationalism about Jesus and Christianity. This is no different. See Margaret Mitchell's excellent review of this year's crop of stories in Sightings.

As long as we can worry and theorize about the gospel of Judas or what Dan Brown was doing with the Da Vinci code then we don't have to ask the hard and real questions about what an empty tomb might mean for my life. Being a spectator to Easter's parade is a whole lot easier than having to march in it. Or, to put it another way, the way of the cross, leaves little room for intellectualizing. If Easter means anything, it means that its time to step off the curb and into the traffic of God's amazing work.
