Happy New Year
At long last I'm back to writing--and to a schedule that permits writing. The holidays have come and gone. The Reeds have returned from travels that have taken us to Ohio and Indiana--and for me--a trip to Missouri. We have visited family and friends, celebrated Christmas, watched my father-in-law teach his grandchildren how to play poker, purchased a used car for William, preached at my in-law's congregation, bowled, consumed several pounds of chocolate, and made two batches of homemade ice cream!
Now it's back to Atlanta and engagement with other aspects of life. It is always a wonderful, amazing thing to see God's work in people's lives. On our travel, both Vickie and I had opportunities to be engaged in ministry to others. Nursing homes, hospitals, coffee shops and restaurants become places of encounter. And then, this morning, it comes in the form of a man needing a ride to pick up some groceries.
Can I simply be aware of the moments--as they come--when it is time to embody Jesus? Not a bad new year's resolution.
